About me

I hold a top secret security clearance for my job. In my regular, fulltime jobs as a federal contractor, I worked as a software help desk analyst and shortly thereafter, became the lead technical writer for a Department of State (DoS) contractor.
Today, I am a Knowledge Management Analyst for a Department of Defense (DoD) contractor. I not only create technical documentation in print and online, I am a SharePoint administrator managing the Knowledge Base and SharePoint site managers. However, the majority of the time, at least lately, is creating Nintex forms and developing the associated Nintex workflows.
I have over fifteen years’ experience in information technology, graphics design, business development, technical writing, marketing, and training and program development.
Prior to becoming a federal contactor, I worked in the healthcare industry for human resources as a training program developer and facilitator. I have created and written training program manuals, job descriptions, and policies and procedures.
As technology changed, documentation and training went "online". I designed and developed the CSS and HTML pages for information that was previously in print.
As a federal contractor working in the DoS and DoD locations, I became proficient in Section 508 compliance mandated in January 2018. As part of my job, I ensured web pages and electronic documentation I created complied with the electronic information technology (EIT) portion of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974, and the Web Content Access Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

I am a Senior Technical Writer with 15+ years of experience delivering clear, compliant, and user‑focused documentation across IT, government, healthcare, and aviation industries.

My career began in the healthcare sector, where I developed training programs, SOPs, and HR policies and job descriptions. I then advanced into federal contracting roles with the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of State (DoS), serving as a software help desk analyst, lead technical writer, and knowledge management analyst. In these positions, I managed SharePoint sites, created technical documentation, and built automated workflows with Nintex and Power BI. While my Top Secret clearance has expired, the experience gave me deep exposure to secure environments and compliance standards.

I have worked in the aviation technology industry, documenting airline APIs and leading knowledge initiatives. My responsibilities include:

- Authoring knowledge base articles, release notes, user/help guides, SOPs.

- Creating training demos and videos (Sway, PowerPoint, Camtasia, Clipchamp).

- Developing workflows with Power Automate and analyzing results with Power BI.

- Serving as SharePoint 365 site administrator for the technical writing hub.

IT Security accomplishments

I have delivered ISO‑27001‑aligned security and continuity documentation for asset management and government clients. My work includes authoring crisis management and disaster recovery plans, documenting security access controls and incident response playbooks, and standardizing business continuity frameworks and policies. I’ve produced security baseline and configuration documentation to support compliance and audit readiness, as well as detailed work instructions covering both physical and electronic procedures. These contributions strengthened organizational resilience, ensured regulatory compliance, and provided clear, actionable guidance for secure operations.

I am proficient in Section 508 compliance and WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards, ensuring all documentation meets federal and industry requirements. I also bring hands‑on experience with HTML, CSS, and agile environments, where I’ve worked directly in source code (Zendesk Guide) to deliver knowledge base content.

With a strong foundation in technical writing, knowledge management, and process design, I excel at bridging complex technical concepts with clear, actionable communication—helping organizations improve usability, compliance, and efficiency
